Project Name:Â Midland Natatorium
Project Location: Midland, TX
Nieman Engineering provided structural engineering services for the new 40,000 SF Natatorium in Midland, TX. The facility includes Olympic size pools, modern gym, lockers, and offices. The structure was designed with a combination of precast concrete, steel, and load bearing masonry walls. The challenges encountered during  design include the steel raker beams to support the precast bleachers and obviously the support of the “wave” structure that beautifies the front of the building. As usual, steel connection design was included in our construction design to speed up the construction process.Â
Project Name:Â Kappa Alpha Theta Lodge
Project Location: Lubbock, TX
Nieman Engineering is proud to be the structural engineer of this new Sorority Lodge at Texas Tech University. This Greek style architecture features a two-story center section, curved balconies and pillars with a full basement. The structural framing is a combination of wood framing, steel  and precast double-tees floor system above the basement.
Project Name:Â Grace Lutheran Church
Project Location: Midland, TX
Nieman Engineering provided structural engineering services for the Children’s Education Building Additions at the Grace Lutheran Church in Midland, TX. The 15,000 SF additions consisted of a new Youth Room, a Recreation Room with a full basketball court, new offices, and a Social Hall. The structural framing was made of of steel joists with girder trusses moment frames supported on shallow foundation. As usual, steel connections design was included in our construction documents to speed up the construction process.
Project Name:Â Concho Daycare
Project Location: Midland, TX
Nieman Engineering provided structural engineering services for the construction of Concho Daycare in Midland. This daycare facility is composed of 20,000 SF building and 3,000 S.F. playground canopy area. The structural framing consisted of steel moment frames on shallow foundations with exposed Glulam Beams. As usual, steel connections design was included in our construction documents to speed up the construction process.
Project Name:Â Midland County Amphitheater
Project Location: Midland, TX
Nieman Engineering provided structural engineering services for the construction of the 4,200 seat Amphitheater. This is the final component of the 109,500 SQ.FT, $25 million Horseshoe Arena in Midland County to complete a long range plan to develop and operate completely innovative venues for meetings, trade shows and entertainments in West Texas.
Project Name:Â The WAY Retreat Center
Project Location: Midland, TX
Nieman Engineering was the structural engineer on this $11 million, First Christian Retreat Center in Midland, TX. Sitting on 20 acres of land, this Retreat Center is comprised of a Chapel, a Main Retreat Center, a Hacienda and small casitas which will house 80 retreatants. The structural system consisted on three building materials: load bearing metal studs for the hacienda, Wood+Steel for the Chapel, and Structural Steel for the Main Retreat Center.
